-- dimpaw stayed low, his tail swishing slowly behind him. swish! swish! what a mistake he had made, his mentor has always told him to stay still while hunting. dimpaw leaped foreward, scrambiling to catch up to the rabbit. "Mousdung!" he spat, heaving in a breath before bounding after the rabbit. he wasn't ever really lucky so, he doubted he would catch anything now.
-- it was easy for the rabbit to out-run him, he was better at mice anyway. dimpaw sat, heaving in breathes- though he countinued to stare at the place the rabbit had ran, wishing it would come back so he would have something to take back to his clan. he still couldn't belive he spent all this time and hadnt caught one thing, maybe it was because he had spent most of it chasing after the rabbits. of course that was not his speciality, still he expected to atleast catch one- one rabbit but, he caught none out of what he guessed to be 5.

Lilium She could spy the young apprentice hunting from her spot in the bushes and brambles. Thankfully she could not be seen in such heavy foliage, even with such a light toned pelt. Her soft brown eyes sparked. He looked larger, but still had the innocent features of a youngster. She guessed he was an apprentice by the way he talked and behaved. No kit would know that you're supposed to hunt rabbit and mice. Much less how to hunt one.
He demonstrated the skills of a growing apprentice. One who wasn't too far away from becoming a young Warrior is what she guessed. She slowly eased out of the bushes to where he could see her face. Lilium hoped he wouldn't become frightened of her. Or try to fight her like most did, all that got them was to the Medicine Cats den. Whenever she fought, she had no control. She wasn't good at making friends or listening, but she was a fighter.

-- dimpaw lifted his head, his mind scrambiling as he stared at- what he guessed to be a loner. she didnt seem like a kittypet who had ventured to far from its two-legs, or like a rouge. the she-cat seemed rather beautiful to the young apprentice. "er- i'm guessing you say all that didnt you?" he mewed, akwardly- hoping his display of hunting wouldnt case the she-cat to burst into laughter, it sure did with the other apprentices. especially when it was dimpaw who made the mistake.
-- it took him a few moments to realize, he didnt seem like the normal apprentice. it made him happy though- when cats from other clans guessed him to be a warior, of course he knew at this state he was no where near being made one. glancing down at his pelt, he frowned to see it covered in dirt and muck of the run for the rabbit. dimpaw gave his pelt a couple of strokes before looking back at the she-cat.

Lilium Lilium smiled a bit. This one was smart enough not to hiss and attack her for being on his clans land. She stepped out fully. Allowing the reality of her beauty to be seen. With such a sweet and open face, who wouldn't trust her immediately? Most warriors and toms was the answer. Such a pretty she-cat whom was also nice and single was too good to be true by the sound of it.
She realized the Apprentice had asked her something, it was a question she had to answer. "Yes, I saw every bit of it. You aren't as bad as you think." she said, hoping to lift his low esteem. She wouldn't dare laugh, for every laugh she let out at someone else, she would be reminded of everything wrong with her.

-- dimpaw let out a little snort of amusement. "Really? Nobody else thinks that." and it was very true, what he said. none of the other apprentices belived him to be a good hunter even though, his mentor said he was great. thankfully, he chose to belive his mentor and not the pests that everyone knew to as - darkpaw and swiftpaw. dimpaw stood for a moment, stiff-legged - maybe it was because he had been sitting for to long, even though it has only been a few minutes. he stretched, a yawn parting his stripped muzzle. "Im Dimpaw." he mewed, pulling himself back to a sitting postion. "And you are?"

Lilium Lilium's sweet smile grew a bit more. She didn't know why, but when she was around apprentices she just couldn't stop smiling. Even if she was in pain, which was partly why most cats thought she was insane. She was a bit, but not to the point of loving pain. Only slightly insane was she.
She sat down silently, curling her fluffy cream tail around her paws delicately. She was glad her fur had chosen to lay sleek and flat against her small body. Sometimes she would wake, and it would be sticking out at every possible angle. Then it would take hours and hours on end and sometimes until the moon rose to make herself look presentable to the point where she could go out.
This apprentice seemed to have it easy when it came to fur. He looked a little more sleek than most his age whom still looked like little balls of fur with two eyes and feet. Not to mention the tails that looked like worms of color.
"They probably do think it, they just don't say it so easily like I do." is all she said. It was all she would even have to say, she was glad that she might make him feel better about his skills. But she was not lying to him. He really was talented, he just tried a little too hard. To her, hunting was like breathing. It came naturally, she didn't have to think about it, and she almost always won. Status- Complete <3 Word Count-250 Note- It's okay :3 Congrats on landing a moderator try out!

-- dimpaw smiled a bit as he looked at the beautiful young she-cat. the young tom now despretely wished that his mom had told him where her secret spot was. it wasn't likely that he would find out- unless, he asked his mother directly. though he hated the look of sadness that would cloud her eyes when she spoke of his dad. maybe it would be worth it? probally not, his mother didnt much like loners as much as she did back when his dad was still alive. "I really should be going, if i stay any longer the clan will start to worry." for some reason he felt an urge just to sit here, continueing to listen to the she-cats' voice. but he stood another yawn parting his jaws. "Maybe we could- um see eachother again? We could meet by the great oak at dawn if you like?" He asked, looking away from her akwardly.

Lilium Lilium felt a small stab of sadness. She knew that the clans would worry if their warriors or apprentices went off for too long. She'd once seen half of a clan get sent out to look for one single warrior. She never understood the logic behind that though. She guessed the clan cat's minds were set up far different than hers. They didn't have time to think and figure everything out, they relied on eachother for survival, surviving was all that mattered to them aside from this 'code' they spoke of.
She hadn't known rules existed in their territories. Rules which she broke without even thinking. Such as the one about hunting in others territories. Then again she did follow some of these rules. She never neglected a kit in danger. Lilium didn't care what clan they were, she just didn't like to see anything die before they could live. Part of the reason her prey had to be a certain size before she would hunt it. Just to avoid killing something that was born recently.
Looking back at the tom with her warm chocolate eyes she mewed "Sure, I'll see you at dawn then. Run along back to your clan before they send out parties to find you." She didn't say this in a teasing manner. Actually she was quite serious. She would've loved to have someone that worried about her, that cared for her.

-- dimpaw smiled at the she-cat before turning and bounding back. many times he wished he would have stayed longer- who cared if the clan came after him? though the clan would know that something was wrong- since dimpaw only stayed out for only maybe a few minutes, though it as maxed to about 2 hours now. so the young tom kept running, still running his plan for the next day.
-- "Dimpaw! Oh- sweet dimpaw, we thought you were hurt where were you" his mother purred, butting his head against her sons shoulder. dimpaw smiled a bit, enjoying the scent of his mothers sweet fur. "I was just out- hunting. I didnt have much luck though" he admitted, though his mom didnt care as she continued to cover her son with licks. dimpaw glanced around- looking to see if the freshkill pile was full. thankfully it was, he glanced at his mother then sent his plan into action. "Mum. Come on lets get some fresh-kill" wordlessly, the two made there way to the fresh-kill pile. dimpaw nosed his way through the fresh-kill finally landing on a small water vole from the pile. as the two settled down, dimpaw took this chance to ask his mother. "Mum? Remember the story about dad, and your secret spot?" he asked, avoiding his mothers clouded eyes. "Of course I do dim! Why wouldn't I?" she gulped down her mouse, concentrating on something that seemed very far away. dimpaw looked down at his paws, sheathing and unsheathing his claws. "I was wondering if you could- maybe tell me where the place is?" he asked, glancing away from his mother- though he could still feel her eyes on his pelt. "Oh- for you dim yes. I will, now finish your vole" dimpaw nodded his head, and began to gulp down anything that remained on the vole. finally, he scooted closed to his mother and looked at her expectantly. "Has your mentor shown you the great oak? Well that is where I meet your father, it was acually him you found the spot. He told me it was as beautiful as I was" his mother looked away, her eyes clouded with the sorrow of her past. dimpaw pressed himself against her, running his sandpapper tonque along her cheek. "He showed me it- oh I can remember what he sayed like it was only a moon ago. You go up the hill near the great oak, it is acually quite easy to get to it. Now you have to go left, and there dimpaw you have found it." she smiled a bit, though tears threatened to stream down the she-cats cheeks. dimpaw tried to press himself closer to her but, she immeditally got to her paws and trotted away with a silent 'good-bye'. dimpaw looked at his paws- feelings twirled in his stomach, making the apprentice feel awfully sick with himself. though there was a little feeling of happiness but, it was quickly washed away by the feeling of sickness that twirled in his stomach.
